Sustainable Foundational Homes | Autistic Accessible Design

Foundational Homes, Delivering Sustainable Support Solutions

Autistic Haus is an innovative charity creating accessible, supported homes specifically for autistic adults, on evidence-based design principles.

Independently supplementing national support framework and providing a world-first housing model designed to optimise support delivery and outcomes for autistic adults.

Evidence Based | Autistic Led | Sustainability Values

"I strongly endorse Autistic Haus"

- Professor Tony Attwood, world-renowned expert in autism.

"Autism + environment = outcome"

- Dr Luke Beardon, advocate for strengths based approaches.

Dr Tony Attwood & Absence Nova on Autistic Accessible Design

In a world which harms and excludes autistic people across both personal and infrastructural aspects, Autistic Haus is uniquely positioned to finally demonstrate a model where sustainable foundational supports join with autistic accessible design practices to urgently address an ongoing crisis for autistic and vulnerable populations. Join world leading expert in autism Dr Tony Attwood,  and innovative founder and designer Absence Nova, on the Fundamentals of improving outcomes through design.

For a detailed summary of our model, see the report in the Resources page of our website

Upcoming Discussion Group

We'll be hosting a discussion group at Roma Street Parklands, Maganjin/Brisbane on Friday May 29 from 3.30-6.30pm.

The timing is due to both organisational readiness and relevant to recent events. Minimal Smalltalk anticipated.

We'll be nearby to the train station, cafe and accessible bathrooms.

What to expect: a talk in the park. Ambient noise should be mostly natural. Paved pathways, water feature and garden areas for ambling. BYO supports as necessary. In keeping with our unique model this event is posted by volunteers and you can bring the supports you need, and we may not have training in your specific co-occurring condition or support strategies. Please do reach out if you would like to discuss support needs, using the contact form on this website.

Topics will centre on foundational supports including an introduction to the Autistic Haus model, housing, infrastructure and NDIS. Please prepare to understand that we all experience autism differently and we are all at different points on our journey.

Autistic Haus is for autistic people; evidence supports self identification of autism.

Due to the demographic and interest of our organisation in providing sustainable homes for vulnerable populations, right-leaning viewpoints will be antithetical to our aims and obligations as a safe space, however all are welcome if respectful. This is not the time or place to try to trot out eugenic rhetoric etc.

This is a completely free event, donations are always appreciated and tax deductible.

As an entirely volunteer - led nonprofit organisation we rely on your generosity to deliver better outcomes for autistic people and add sustainability to existing supports.

Donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia.

International supporters may prefer to donate through our GFM campaign.
